Day 16

First run on the Bering Sea!

Rodney Foust...best dam co-pilot hanging on for dear life!!
 Clearing the Nome harbor mouth.
The town of Nome from sea.
Rodney and I took the inflatable out today to work out any bugs.  The boat worked great, no issues until..., while waiting for Rodney to back the trailer in to haul out the boat, the engine stalled and would not start.  Fortunately an  inflatable towing a small 3" dredge was passing and offered to tow me back to the beach.  While in tow we ran aground and stalled the 4hp out-board motor.  During the good samaritan's scramble over the gunnel to push us off the gravel bar, he lost the key for the motor.  While adrift he jerry-rigging the ignition and we were back into action.
